TigerTurf’s synthetic grass is made from either polypropylene or polyethylene yarn depending on its end-use. These materials are highly durable and U.V stabilised, sourced from TenCate Grass, the world’s leading yarn manufacturer and also the owner of TigerTurf. The yarn is usually tufted into a polypropylene backing cloth and rubber/latex backed, using a special methodology, for maximum turf retention.

TigerTurf commenced operations with primary manufacturing out of Auckland, New Zealand – the birthplace of TigerTurf.TigerTurf is also manufactured in the United States of America, United Kingdom & Malaysia. The yarn, however, is manufactured in the United States of America, Holland or United Arab Emirates.

We offer a wide range of sports and landscape systems for all levels of play and suitable for every environment as per client’s requirement and budget. The cost also depends on a range of variables such as the type of surface, layout, base preparation, existing ground condition, rainfall, access to sites, end-use and also intensity of use. We have an in-house team of engineers who will help you with your design, complete scope of work and all as per your budget. Our team is geared to do your project on a complete turnkey basis, and, where required, also provide supervision, in case you want to build the base yourself.Not only that, but we also provide maintenance packages for your sports surfaces. .

Each and every product provided by Altius Sports comes with a manufacturing warranty that is highest in its field of work. The life expectancy of a surface depends upon usage, number of hours of continuous play, size of field, sport being played, maintenance, and a host of other factors. Needless to say, all our products have the “highest in category” warranty.

You can do pretty much whatever you want with your surfaces depending on the size and in-fill factor - we’ve even had people cover their cars with it! However, rolling up and storing your surface is advisable when you are looking at golf mats and the likes thereof for then they will be easy to wind/roll and not heavy. Further, these are loose laid so the question of installation does not arise.

There have been a lot of recent claims regarding the safety, health and environmental issues associated with synthetic flooring which mostly concerns the raw materials used to make the product. It will be right to conclude that synthetic surfaces from Altius Sports are safe and do not have a negative impact on people or the environment.

We do not recommend driving vehicles on the synthetic surfaces but if you must, in case of emergency, then we suggest driving slowly and in straight lines without turning. In case you do turn, please have the radius very gradual as you do not want to tear the grass. Vehicles can be parked upon the artificial turf too, but please be careful of oil spills and other harmful stains .

There are many reasons, but the main ones are that users are more active and participate more on synthetic pitches as they are more inviting. Further, the consistency of play, ball bounce and ball roll is another important factor and not to mention that these are all-weather surfaces, letting players reach their full potential always. Multiple sports can be played on the same surface, thus maximising available capacity and remaining affordable at the same time.

Altius Sports provides maintenance guidelines for all playing surfaces. You should ask for a maintenance guide once your pitch is completed. Regular cleaning and level of maintenance and type of maintenance will vary depending on the trees around your surroundings for you may be required to blow off fallen leaves or, at times, spray for mould/moss in shaded areas, especially post the rainy season. However, all this depends upon the type of surface and the sport but largely, maintenance required is purely preventive or low. Altius Sports has a maintenance division that undertakes regular maintenance of various sports surfaces for its customers. We will assess your courts/play area and provide you with a quote for maintenance or you can also sign up for our maintenance programme, choosing the one best suited for your requirement.

Yes, we take pride in delivering quality systems and stand firmly behind them. Although the duration of warranties of our various productises dependent upon the sport and type of surface, it covers manufacturing workmanship, fit for purpose, UV degradation and significant fading.

Our different surfaces require different footwear to ensure your pitch lasts as long as possible. If you’re unsure, click a picture of your boots and send it to us and we’ll let you know if they’re suitable for the given surface. We do have our patented XP products that are footwear friendly, so this is another advantage of going with TigerTurf.

For gym sled tracks, we would recommend a product made with a texturized, monofilament yarn like Advantage, Evo Pro or Trophy. You can additionally use a shock pad to engineer an even more relaxed experience.

Tennis, Netball, Hockey, Football, Athletics, Basketball and Cricket can all be played on a multi surface as well as general PE and most other games and recreational activities. And with a variety of colours to choose from, you can ensure that the athlete is always sure of the playing area as well as the line-marking (tufted into the product). More dedicated surfaces can be installed to cater specifically to Football, Hockey, Rugby and Cricket. .

Absolutely, our surfaces can be installed directly onto a concrete pad with little, if any, base preparation. In fact, it is the best performing base for our surfaces. We have several turfs that make excellent Multi-Sport surfaces for Tennis and Hockey but also Netball & Football .

Yes, TigerTurf has specially designed drainage holes placed consistently throughout the turf and in the case of all other surfaces water sheds quickly along the slope of the base and does not pool on the surface. Sub bases for sporting surfaces are designed to provide superior drainage properties as well. Recommended specifications are available at Altius Sports to help ensure the correct and complete system. .

Most surfaces have a range of different colours depending on the type of surface you require. Options include olive green, forest green, light blue, dark blue, brick, red, yellow, purple, wooden finish, etc. This range of colours is based on our most requested and most popular.

The line-markings that mark out the various sports are tufted into the surface during manufacturing where possible. Otherwise, they are usually cut and glued during the installation process.

The turf is loose laid over the asphalt and glued at the seams, using a special seaming tape and 2 part glue and it could be directly glued to the surface around the perimeter. The turf is then generally in filled with sand and/or granular infill, if required, depending upon the product, to provide both stabilizing and performance support to the grass fibres.

Artificial grass is not maintenance-free but requires less maintenance than a natural lawn according to its usage.

Our installation team will guide you through the maintenance process after installation is complete so that it can be demonstrated if required.

We do not recommend hoovering your TigerTurf lawn as it will remove the sand infill, causing your lawn to go flat. Use a brush or a rake to remove any leaves or debris.

Yes, our grass is made from the highest quality yarns which have non-toxic properties. All coatings, backings, glue, infill etc. that we use in the production and installation process is tested non-toxic and they are certified “Safe as a Toy”.

Once the grass had been installed, it should then be in-filled with the correct specification and quantity of sand/sbr where required and this depends upon the turf system that is being used and also the application of the same. Some of our products that are non-infill systems are ideal as they have very little load and, despite being non-fill, they are extremely durable and versatile and gives years and years of unadulterated sporting pleasure. Coming back to infill, the same is important because it provides weight to the carpet and helps provide support to the grass fibres thereby improving performance in wear and adding visual appearance to the lawn by keeping the fibres erect. Sand also acts as a fire inhibitor – and this is another plus!

The synthetic grass must be laid on a suitable base. This can be crushed rock, asphalt, concrete (porous or non-porous)or timber. The base should be constructed and prepared to ensure the grass is laid flat and looks natural and real.
